Good Grains Energy Bites Recipe

chocolate peanut butter oatmeal energy bites protein balls

The Perfect Snack

Have you heard of energy bites (also known as protein balls)? If you have, you're going to love this recipe. If you haven’t, you're in for a real treat! These Good Grains Energy Bites are packed with health and happiness and are great for a grab-and-go breakfast or snack.

They have a balance of macronutrients (carbohydrates, fat, and protein) for sustained energy before or after exercising, or when you just need a slight chocolate fix. We've used our organic, non-GMO whole rolled and thick-cut Fifty-Fifty Oatmeal for this one.

One cup of Fifty-Fifty Oatmeal contains 12g of protein and 10g fiber, so you'll be full and ready to take on the day!

Oatmeal Energy Bites

Refrigeration time: 30-45 minutes

  • 1 cup Good Grains Fifty-Fifty Oatmeal
  • ½ cup mini chocolate chips
  • ½ cup natural creamy peanut, almond, or cashew butter
  • ½ cup ground flaxseed
  • ⅓ cup of organic honey
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • **Optional! ½ cup of coconut flakes for flavor

  1. Mix dry ingredients together. Stir Good Grains Fifty-Fifty Oatmeal, chocolate chips, and ground flaxseed into a bowl and mix. If you want to add coconut flakes, now is the time!
  2. Add peanut, almond, or cashew butter, honey, and vanilla and stir well.
  3. Use clean hands to make ingredients into bite-sized balls. Pack them tightly.
  4. Place on baking sheet with parchment paper and refrigerate for 30-45 minutes to set.
  5. Separate into bags or tupperware for storage. Energy bits can be refrigerated for up to 2 weeks.
